NYC Galley Kitchen Design
Retro, Lively, Cheerful
After completing the design and renovation of her secondary bathroom with the In-Site team earlier in the year, the client wanted better function and personality into her kitchen overlooking the breathtaking views over Central Park West. Bringing a classic, but fun, vibe with a strong focus on increasing storage for her collection of cookware and pet treats was important.
The Client is artistic and adventuresome in her home décor. We explored variations of white, black and colored cabinetry before settling on white upper cabinets with black base cabinets. Instead of a full colored cabinet, she agreed that the strong sunflower gold inside the glass cabinet allowed for a better melding to the adjoining spaces. The subway backsplash from Delta Tile was the perfect proportion and style she was hoping for. Also key was incorporating the client’s artistic and adventuresome home decor into the modern classic white, black and colored cabinetry.
Another important task our designers focused on was to declutter and streamline, increase storage capacity, optimize surfaces and work stations i.e. cutting board drawer and multi-functional seating area. The fully customized kitchen cabinetry allowed the client to get the best use of her space and look stunning including featured panel-ready appliances.
Tight loading areas and corridors in this mid-century building made the appliance delivery company state that the refrigerator could not be delivered. Thankfully the contractor inched and prodded and was finally able to squeeze it into the small freight elevator.
Now the client is able to enjoy her renovated New York City Kitchen for a lifetime with durable material selections and high end quality cabinetry.
