It’s been a year to focus on our homes and many have renovated, purchased new furniture or moved to new spaces. I’ve been thinking a lot about my own living room and the sofa that is long overdue for a replacement. As an Interior Designer working in New York City and Long Island, I see more furniture than most. This week time was spent on finding just the right tall chair for a lounge we are designing. But I know that when it comes to relaxing, comfort in seating is the most important thing (though beauty probably rides alongside as being most important!) for home interior design.

I want to share a few of my favorite home furnishings that have recently come on to the residential interior design market. Style and grace, and comfort is what I always look for and I invite you to email me at esvaughan@in-siteid.com to share your comments on these pieces. Have a favorite of your own, send it to me. I would love to see it and have the conversation about the design of your home!

Borea Armchair by B&B Italia: Not only is this chair totally inviting but it’s designed for the outdoors too (though I would totally recommend this to a home design client for their interiors too!)

Carol Slipper chair by Jeffrey Douglas Studio: Beautifully proportioned, the frame elegantly wraps around the back to complete the beautiful look.

Lily Stool by Christian Siriano: My favorite little pieces from Christian’s newest line of home furnishings makes me smile. The scalloped edges are fanciful and make it easier to move it over to the larger seating group to join the conversation!

Looking forward to hearing your comments or let me know if you need help purchasing any of these pieces for your home design!

Happy Designing,
